Heartbreaking story with realistic hope and a happy ending, the art is gorgeous and the framing and composition is subtle but impeccable. This is my absolute favorite, I re-read it periodically. It's painful but also cathartic in a way. The variety of characters and the development we see it phenomenal. Yes there is a lot of darkness, but it is never trivialized and there is a lot to be read between the lines. An absolute masterpiece.
