Uhh... He literally let her suffer for half of her life, he HAD the power to make her childhood happier and not have such a tough time. He never even visited her or became friends with her to slightly lighten her suffering (at least it isnt shown, it says she had no friends). He saw what she was going through and yet did nothing about it because HE wanted to marry her. She didnt, she made that very clear.....so like... she knows that her life being the way it is is his fault.... why is she literally falling in love with him?
