To be honest, I don't know why so many ppl hating on Yuri's personality. I mean yes, he is shitty in most of the way but that's how he is building on from his childhood. We can't expect him to grow a new personality just because he meets someone depressed. Since young, he only experiences love from Heejoo. Even his real sister and parents did not really pay any attention to him. He has this image of being "handsome", "smart" which allows him to receive praises and attention everywhere he goes (referring to the girls and teachers) but to him, it is not sincere. And he is slowly letting Heejoo go in his own way by saying that "Wouldnt allow anything destroys her future" - (smth along the line, couldn't really remember) It means he is backing off but only step in if something happens to her. Realistically speaking, if any of my friends/family faces any trouble, I will definitely step in and help. Everyone has their own way of showing compassions- some will shower you with love while others will shower you with truths. Yuri is just one of those who will spit out truths and make people face it and move on. Not to mention, Heejoo went overseas for three years and came back suddenly want to get married. To yuri who harbor feelings for her, it might be seen as a form of "betrayal" but he couldn't act on it.
And I can see him slowly changing (very small) but there's an improvement. If he is a *real* jerk, he could easily spurt out Jiri's feelings to BIL when Jiri was drunk or just dump drunk Jiri to BIL instead. But no, he insisted on sending Jiri home alone and willing to bring him to his hotel. Of course, I don't approve how he just tossed Jiri.
Yuri's personality is understandable but not justifiable but at least he is improving.
I really hope Jiri gets some decent help T.T Seeing him reminds me of how I was like when I was younger. Crying every day really exhausted one's mind and body. I don't want to see him breaking down any further. ): And I really want to highlight how kind, gentle and tender Jiri is. Regardless of Yuri's rude behaviors, he still wants to be there for him. There are many people who are understanding but that does not mean they will tolerate or accept such behaviors.
