People don't like him cause he killed her whole family and deceived her and he still had the audacity to ask if he could win her over in this life. And also, because he killed her whole family I don't think it was right for him to be rewarded for letting her live because if my whole family died I don't think I would want to be alive either. But yeah, I do agree that he's not a bad person. Him being a bad lover doesn't necessarily mean he was a bad person. Tbh if I did what he did I don't know if I'd be able to forgive myself either.
But I would honestly have done what he did the ml ended up saving more ppl (like he didn’t let love cloud his judgement which I find good cuz if he didn’t lead the riot then sooner or later there would’ve been a riot led by someone else that would end up killing her family either way but also put other ppl at danger not only the mc’s family) like if the ml didn’t do what he did, the commoners WOULDVE eventually had enough and retaliate either way which would also put the workers at risk (btw I’m not saying that it’s not sad the family died but I think the ml made the right choice of choosing the more logical path than letting the family live) also I think the reason he deceived her was because he had to think of the future as a whole not only his love (also he fell in love w her after he made up his mind/he already was lying to her when he fel for her so he couldn’t just reveal it) so I would rather say he was being mature but also hurting both him and the mc with the fact he had to lie to the mc to achieve that future… also even if the mc was willing to help the ml, ppl wouldn’t trust her saying she’s cold hearted for betraying her family so even if the ml chose to tell the mc the truth the ending wouldn’t have been good since then ppl would also start doubting the ml which would defeat the whole point of the riot (which is to create a better environment for ppl to live which requires a leader the ppl r willing to trust)
Why r ppl hating on the ml like dude the mc chose to die the ml wanted her to live… the ml didn’t want power but rather wanted the ppl/commoners to be able to laugh and live a peaceful life… and what do u mean the ml murdered the mc w/o feelings… like it’s repeated that the mc knew that ppl wouldn’t trust the ml if she lived and that would prevent the fief from improving/will end up causing a riot so the mc knowing that her family stole the ppls happiness she chose to stay and be executed to atone for her ignorance and her family’s wrong doing… the ml and mc both wanted to do what was right and the ml even wanted to let the mc live (which just goes to show how much he actually loved her cuz if it was someone else they wouldn’t have given the mc a chance to escape) and the ml never got himself a lover because he only loves the mc like why r ppl not understanding what is happening… the ml did what was right even if it went against his feelings for the mc cuz he wanted to save thousands of lives and return happiness to the ppl but to do that he had to end up suffering for many years knowing that he betrayed his lover… the mc doesn’t resent the ml because she knows what he did was for the better good… like when she goes around town and sees ppl smiling and expressing their opinions (I’m not saying it’s not sad how her family met their end but if u think about it, it was a small price to pay to save hundreds of lives since if the mc’s parents were still the lord of the fief then ppl would’ve been dying from hunger and the atmosphere would’ve stayed gloomy and if the mc lived then the commoners would’ve lost trust of the ml which would prevent him from fixing the fief)… basically to sum it up the ml isn’t a bad person he can’t even forgive himself even though he knew it was basically unavoidable and for the better good (and I’m not saying the mc is guilty or not but if he let the mc live then ppl would’ve lost trust in any authority which would’ve been bad) and the mc also chose to be executed even thought the ml offered her a chance to live so don’t act like he brutally executed her cuz he didn’t (he felt regret and sadness from it he was not cruel)
