I think we can all agree that it was sad on both ends. Ml had to do what he needed in order to save the lives of hundreds or thousands in that city bc of the corrupted nobles and MC was just born in an unfortunate position as she was a daughter of said nobles and didn’t know they were corrupted and had to face the same fate as them even if she did nothing bc she blamed herself for being ignorant of the situation. I’d like to think that another life they could’ve had a more peaceful and happy love story. (I’m hoping they end up together in the end for this one but who knows, some authors like to hurt me )
