I agree with you, but what I don't get is that she didn't personally experience it, since she posessed Regina's body after reading the book. Also, the even hasn't happened yet, so I'm kinda considering as to why she is so scared of him. Yes, he has killed and is of higher status, but shouldn't she at least know that he is only killing bad people and is doing the work of the emperor? I mean I didn't read the book, yetI could tell. Or is it that she completely feels the emotions of Regina? Because from what I've been reading, she is just posessing Regina's body and knows that gonna happened from reading the novel. If that's the case, then yes, I completely understand why she is acting like that.
No,she already possessed the body when he murdered someone. Thats why shes scared. In the original novel,regina was supposed to die in a similar way-witnessing the duke killing someone. But the only difterence is that SHE DIDNT THREATENED HIM,unlike the original story

She’s scared because she witnessed the murder. In the novel it was said that she had died because she witnessed the murder and threatened the ml. This time she witnessed it but ran away. Then she had defended the ml scared if she called him out she would die. But now he’s using her as an alibi.
