I swear to god I thought her husband had a chance but he was only thinking about himself from the very start holy shit. not having sex or cheating is not in the same realm as when he lied about wanting children. That's from the very beginning. HE WAS LITERALLY ONLY THINKING ABOUT HIMSELF. the only reason she was "special" is because she was able to fulfill his checklist AKA a passive lover whose always there for her husband and not wanting anything else.
He's literally afraid to loose her not because he loves her but because he knows even if subconsciously that nobody else will stay for some asshole like him and the possibility that he will also loose the single person who makes him have self-worth is eating him away.
Maybe the reason why he doesn't want to have sex is because he doesn't want children and the guilt that comes with lying about it. I want the FL and the other guy to find happiness, despite being tempted every single moment not once have they ever not truly tried or thought of the other person. they deserve to get some slack.
