It's just my opinion but I think that should happen later like introduce the characters first how about for the first chapter the courtesan meets the mc along with the samurai who is introduced as mc's best friend or something but samurai secretly is obsessed with mc but mc doesn't know. The mc and courtesan have some meetings and one starts to fall for other or both. At night while taking a walk or trying to visit the mc the courtesan accidentally sees the samurai trying to rape mc. That's basically how I would do it but really ur call just what I think.
i think your idea is a good one actually, just to clear up things the mc is the courtesan and the samurai is the antagonist, the ronin is the love interest. Sorry I wasn't clear! But yes I like the idea of the samurai being secretly upset that would add more drama! I think that gave me more writing room ;_; thank you for the advice!

Do you want to add a reason why the samurai is obsessed with the mc? How about having the mc meeting the ronin outside while he is running an errand for the house, and the ronin helps the mc out. Later the ronin got a job that is related to the house or the samurai. Could be the mc tries to run away and the ronin is hired to bring mc back? Oooh drama, lol

So I'm writing this omegaverse fanfiction where the main character is a courtesan and he falls in love with a Ronin whilst learning how to become stronger. Anyways the antagonist is this highranking samurai who is basically obsessed with the main character and wants to own him essentially. So the first chapter is basically attempted rape by the samurai in which the courtesan manages to fight him off possibly killing him in the process(he's not rly dead tho lol) and has to run away after out of fear. Idk if that's too much for the first chapter should I put in that part later?
I really want the ronin to meet the courtesan at his job and outside of it but I want them to encounter one another outside his job first. Sorry if this makes no sense. This is the edo period btw for context
