The grandmother sent away Jiwoons mother because their family became ruined, which could ultimately ruin the family name on Jiwoon’s father’s side of the family. But because the grandmother sent her away, her son, Jiwoon’s father, got sick of it all and went after her so they both left jiwoon but it’s sort of unclear whether they intentionally didn’t come back or if the grandmother made sure they both didn’t come back tbh.
