I think it's just a trope in manga (yaoi and shoujo) that when someone says 'if I asked you to stop...' and then response is 'I can't stop' or something to that effect is seen as 'I love you so much I can't stop even if you ask me' and so romantic...and I've been getting real tired of that trope lately.
So yes, while the uke didn't ask him to stop...it's still bugging me that he couldn't just say 'I will stop' as in 'your agency and desires matter more to me than my own so I will stop if you ask.'
The bible, huh? :D Well, in case of the bible theres already the case that the texts were written centuries after what happened...they were glorified, sorted, passages were scrapped...all in all, the editorial process of the bible is on whole different level...
I think...with Japanese it's still...well...it's not like it doesn't make any sense...in most cases at least. There are really good translators out there. :) For novels as well.
There are definitely superior translators.
I am amazed at how much more natural some translations of the same manga sounds.
When it comes to the bible, I just used that as an example because no one can convince me that, even if it started out at the word of God, something major wasn't lost in translation over the centuries.
I live in the bible belt in the US, so I hear all the time how it's the "infallible word of God", which always makes me want to smack some common sense into whoever is saying it.
Dude...you should say yes, that you would respect his wishes to stop because that is RAPE.
Plus, my god, you move fast and the guy is weak. Sad.
Btw, it looks like Heat Exhaustion, not Heat Stroke. You can die from Heat Stroke and it is much more serious than Heat Exhaustion.
