I always find it funny how being a tomboy or a girl who likes "boyish things" is so normalized and almost admired while boys who like "girly" things are often ostracized and considered weird.

Girls can like star wars, superheroes, short hair, action video games, sports, etc without most people blinking an eye- yk, things that were traditionally seen as stereotypical "masculine" hobbies, but have over time become more and more gender neutral. But god forbid a boy wearing dresses or putting on makeup or playing with dolls!

has everything to do with patriarchy and misogyny, hobbies that are considered for boys are widely accepted and are seen as very cool while hobbies associated with girls are ridiculed. society as a whole needs to do better and start unlearning issues that i mentioned above.

exactly, masculine traits are always what society leans towards. Even many "strong women" in media are strong women with masculine traits (I love them, but people need to be aware that there are many types of strong women). Misogyny integrates itself in many levels.

I dont necessarily agree with everything you said. I'm a trans guy and nobody ever praised me for being masculine. If anything, my mother would make fun of me and insult me for "acting like a boy", and that I should "act more like a lady". I do agree that society is generally more accepting towards masculine women than feminine men, but its not like masculine women and people who get perceived as masculine women get praised for it (at least from my experience)
