the recent story is the main characters , their story isn’t completed. the side characters bai & lan have their own book now (not completed either) , but their side stories still appear in here

I know the thing says it's ongoing but is the main story completed and it's just doing side chapters or what? I really wanna read this but only if the main character's story is completed. Anyone know?
