read a spoiler somewhere that arien will be with the guardian but since arjen is the true master of the guardian bc the imperial blood leans to arjen more. arjen has to give up his power for arien so she becomes the master of the guardian. bc of course, if something happens and the guardian has to choose between his gf and master, it would be difficult for him right. that is why arjen gave his powers to her so they could be totally together.
