Some ideas I have on the potential symbolism in Chapter 32:
1. Leash/“I’ve raised a dog before.”
Potentially means that Ms. Ren has done this seduction trap before with other people. “Raising a dog” might mean keeping someone subservient to her, which we can see in the prologue where Wan Shu is collared and seemingly forced to write for Ms. Ren.
2. The Last Supper painting
Wan Shu could be Ms. Ren’s “last meal” (last victim) before she gets caught. The painting might foreshadow Ms. Ren’s fate.
