They are rather close for "exes". Especially considering the ML is someone who isn't the type to be close to others easily. It's clear he still has affection for her.

I'm beginning to think that they are just close friends and not ex's at all. It happens in these manga's all the time. Office gossip just spreads because they "look good together" and the get along well.
They are the EX girlfriend. Not current. EX meaning they broke up and probably for a reason.
