Yeah, but it can get worse over time when he get old and his body won’t able to handle so he can die..
He probably could but after the things he experienced after he met Felix(submerged in cold water 2 times, him being stabbed, etc.) his body might not be in the best condition and that he's getting old.
I mean he lived for 30 years with that condition I'm sure he can go to States without Felix as well. I hope there's no unnecessary drama coming here lol
