As much as i can see that he truly cares for Adele, its not a reason for him to suddenly become a dick and blame everything on the grand duke. As Adele said herself, She wants this and is nor being dragged into this by the grand duke. She is merely doing this to fight for her freedom as a human with her fiancé. I dont see the reason why jean doesn’t listen to her and belittle her words, As if adele would lie to her childhood friend.
