I wrote this in response to a comment asking why this manga makes me uncomfortable so here you go if anyone wants to discuss!!
to clarify "uncomfy" isn't a bad thing! it means the author's pushing boundaries of what's acceptable or not and making readers consider things they never have so we love that.

at least for me this is just less of a love story (because it isn't one, at all,) and more of manga with heavy, complex themes like the feelings of depravity and defilement that can come with sexual behavior, and how no matter the length of a friendship two people might never quite reach the point of true connection and understanding. like it just feels pretty lonely :(

to really explain in depth it's nauseating what Tamaki has gone through and what his childhood has taught him about intimacy. and to think of all the people out there in real life who might feel the same way about things as him, that they don't want to be like their parents and don't want to engage in 'immoral' behavior which might take root in something fun (ie drinking) and simply cannot form good relationships with other people no matter how much they want to because they associate intimacy with something uneasy and disgusting. also just the fact that the person who's supposed to take care of him is responsible for his sexual trauma is pretty horrifying in of itself, especially that last line in his notebook which just makes me wanna throw up

and then on a smaller scale there's the whole thing with Shunta's kind of insatiable lust for Tamaki who he honestly sees as more of a sex object than a person who has feelings and makes mistakes and has gone through unspeakable things as previously mentioned. and there's nothing TOO wrong with that since like he's just a teenage boy going through puberty but he just doesn't seem to care about their friendship beyond what Tamaki can do for him. really the saddest part was when he realized the whole time he was waiting for Tamaki to open up to him he never did the same. like their friendship is just stagnant. that just felt so shitty to read about

but i really do want more though like i have 0 clue how this is gonna end. is this "sexual therapy" (borderline just Shunta pressuring Tamaki to have sex with him -_-) actually going to succeed??? will Tamaki finally overcome his problems and find happiness??? we'll find out i guess!
