Looking for a manga it goes like this, The ML finds a tin with a letter and decides to respond so he puts in it and then a few moments he hears something move in the tine. When he opens it, he discovers another letter. Fast forward a bit it turns out that the other ML was sickly and was in the hospital and wrote letters to past time.
