About the Drama

I don't know if the notice's uploader knows this, but China has a strict censorship law. The Drama, The Untamed is BASED on the story of Mo Dao Zu Shi, but they are not in any means the same. The drama was rewritten to fit the censorship laws, and even so, the relationship between them was presented beutifully. The actors worked hard, and so did those wgo designed the set and the clothing (like the fact that each clan has a uniform based on a fifferent chinese historical period). Yes, they tried to bring JC x WQ into the drama to satisfy the more conservative people and earn the drama a right to air. But they didn't make WY and LWJ sworn brothers. Just because all the kiss and sx scenes are out, they still hid quite a few fun details in there (like when Lan Zhan wraps his headband around Wei Yings wrist). The actors both read the original novel as well, they understood the characters and acted them professionally, even though neither of them have much acting experience as idols. Also, if you notice in the ending scene, Wei Yings clothes slightlychange at the very end, when Lan Zhan looks up and says his name. That could be an indication that Wei Ying returns in the end to Cloud Recesses (though that's only a theory, before ya'all attack me).

The uploader used the word decieving. I'd rather say confusing? Because of the timeline and the Yin Iron (I mean they couldn't really use chopped up body parts so they needed something instead of it). But there are plenty of explanations online for both versions, just read one of them and you're good to gom I watched the drama first and then read the book (I didn't know there's a book before), and yet I'm not confused.

The drama also does a bit modify Wei Yings character, from a morally gray protag to a conpletely good character. But that's the industry, to be honest. They wanted something to capture the watchers attention - they did. They made their own storyline, and it's still an amazing story. And as such, the Untamed might as well be considered a bit separatly from the novel. Anyone who doesn't finish both versions, loses a bit from the other story. But that shouldn't be consodered as such a negative thing, its each persons own decision. And as for who tops or bottoms, that really shouldn't matter if you love this story for the romance and plot. If a fanfic writer switches them, it's their own thing. Don't read it if you don't like it, that's all.

But please, don't hate on each other. If someone watches only the drama, let them be if they are staisfied. Don't attack them. Don't try to force anyone to read the original: they will be less and less willing the more you attack. You can CALMLY explain maybe, why they should read it, you can even just explain the difference if they chose not tonread it, but don't try to force anyone. It's a fuctional story. It's media. Everyone likes a different side of it, because we all are different. Fighting amongst ourselves won't do any good for the famdom, neither will it make a good impression of the piece of media itself, sadly. The actors already recieved a huge backlash because of a fanfiction, and now we're attacking the drama itself? Why are we making things worse for ourselves? Let everyone enjoy the show or the book or any other adaotation at their free will. You won't change their minds with fighting.

I hope this made sense, my english isn't on top.
