I agree with you on some level, especially in this case where it really wasn’t fleshed out why Yeo-dam loved the emperor in their first life. He said it was love at first sight but that’s a flimsy reason (imo) for loving someone who abused him in so many ways. As I see it, it’s a case Stockholm syndrome.
However, that’s as far as I can agree with you - in paper. Real life, which i’m not sure if you include in your opinion, is much complex than the world of this webtoon. There are various factors at play (e.g. upbringing, childhood and other emotional trauma, social anxiety, gaslighting, etc.) when someone goes back to their abusers and choosing not ask for help. I personally believe that we can’t judge a victim and their decisions, especially if we’re fortunate enough not to have walked in their shoes. The only thing we can do (and we’re allowed to do) is give a helping hand.

Like seriously ... you had a second chance at life and promised to not repeat the same life but then go ahead and repeat it ... I mean seriously ... your standard for 'love' is SO SO SO SO SO LOW. Just because he no longer rapes you, humiliates you, kills your loved ones, and starts to listen to you a bit more you are all over the moon in love with him again ... this is why I can't stand nor understand nor can hold sympathy for any victims who refuses to help themselves. If the victim themselves can't help themselves then who are we to intervene in their life. Maybe they like being rape, being humiliated, having their loved one killed, etc. To impose your belief on them would be wrong right ... #STOP_FUNDING_VICTIMS_WHO_RETURN_TO_ABUSERS_WILLINGLY
Give someone else who deserves a second chance the chance instead of useless people who only repeat their lives ...
