I’m just gonna say every character is messed up in their own way. I’m gonna call them by nicknames: FL, playboy, and potato boy.
I finished the webtoon and honestly it’s been a long time, so I’m a bit unclear about potato boy’s past, but I’ll just say what I can remember. He may be the best choice and the best boy now, but apparently he participated in an affair as the side dude(?) in his past relationship. While knowing the lady was taken.

The kdrama ends differently from the webtoon, and depending on what side you’re on- it could be the best or worst that the kdrama changed the ending to be different from the webtoon. In the webtoon, potato boy and FL end up together, in the kdrama, playboy and FL end up together. The difference between the kdrama and webtoon- is that the kdrama turns it into a nice love by the end. The webtoon, gives a realistic and ominous ending. In the end, FL and potato boy are dating and are out one day on a date. Potato boy is approached by some girls fangirling over him, and he’s flattered as they chat about it (something to do with his photography?), and in that moment she gets insecure as she watches and waits. Which could be the effect left on her by playboy. Then she sees playboy again (he didn’t notice her), with him basically doing the same thing he usually does, reeling in a new girl. The ending symbolizes that the cycle will continue, basically that this misery will continue. It’s kind of open and ominous.

Now the unpopular opinion:
Someone in the webtoon comments pointed it out and I reread and understood their points. Basically FL, is not a great person either. In the kdrama, the girl that the playboy gets with, is generally an unlikeable person and that’s why FL says some shady stuff “he likes it when your hair is tied up.” And everyone who’s only a drama watcher cheered like it was justified because the girl he was dating was mean. They basically made playboy’s gf a bad guy, in order to make the FL look better.

HOWEVER, in the webtoon- the FL is shown to be the bad person. So the FL ends things with playboy, saying that they should only be friends. He agrees and time passes and they barely see each other, other than casual greetings. She hears rumors that he no longer plays around and finds out he has a gf. It was the daughter of someone he knew (his mentor? Someone he was indebted to? I forgot), and he actually changed and stopped playing around and treated her well. That gf went to go meet playboy one day and was waiting and ran into the FL. FL noticed who she was, and I believe she had a flower(?) tattoo. They chatted and the gf ACTUALLY was nice and the two just met for the first time. FL got jealous and basically was upset that she wasn’t the one who was able to change him- that he didn’t choose her to date. So she said something shady, “he likes it when your hair is tied up.” This shocked the gf, and she left. Later the playboy meets the FL and is actually shown to be angry. He asked her if she said anything to his gf (now ex because she broke up with him). FL insisted that she didn’t say anything. Playboy knew she lied and basically this was the point of no return, he went back to his old ways as a sort of revenge. Anyways, what the FL did was shady. She’s also not as good a person people think she is. Even the original person who pointed this out on webtoon, had people notice and agree. In the kdrama, the villain-ized the gf to make the FL look better. In the webtoon, they show the worst parts of every character. The FL and gf hardly knew anything about each other and only met that one time. But the FL was hostile towards her.
