That's a problem too.The wait is to long. It was best to have only the most important scenes of the past (I also want to know about the past. But not every single detail). And the rest of the past should be told as extras AFTER the main story. Or else in between scenes when needed. But not the entire S2 (〜￣△￣)〜 I hate Cliffhangers.
If you have a problem with the whole backstory stop reading till its done instead of complaining about it. I am personally enjoying it because it is showing us both the differences between Brian and Ian while also showing us how far the dragon has come. I am curious to see if the head priest ends up in the backstory as well because he seems to at least know about their past if not being a witness to it. But ya if it bothers you so much then stop reading it and pick it back up a little later when Ian is back
