I don’t deserve him by my side in any sort of relationship whatsoever” and laments for a good long while and character development happens around that realization instead of *Jaekyung gets injured or granny’s dying the night before a match and Jaekyung wouldn’t let him leave to say goodbye to his granny and fucks him while Dan cries through the night and then dan runs away* or *dan runs off before Jaekyung could have a satisfying fuck and gets mad at dan for it despite dan wanting to say goodbye to his grandma and he stays at the hospital or a friend’s place the whole time not answering his messages so Jaekyung loses a match and shouts and yells at dan which causes a rift and dan sends a letter of resignation everyone convinces him to stay blah blah blah character development they get together live happily ever after*
What I'm saying is that the creator literally confirmed it, I'm aiming at the people in the topic section saying heesung and Dan would be cute together (it's kinda true). Y'all do know that mingwa did say that joo and Dan will become nice to eachother later in the series (confirmed in the 'hitaus' chapter) so I don't think heesung and Dan will become canon heesung is a cutie patootie tho(ㆁωㆁ)
