the people that want this to be a T4T story clearly don't understand the characters or story. Both crystal and the duke were forced into becoming the opposite sex, even taking excruciatingly painful drugs to suppress their gender expression/biological traits. In the beginning of the story crystal even says wonders if one day he can cut his hair and live happily as a boy. The two of them had to do it or else they would be killed. how is that anything to be happy about or root for? It would be the same as hoping a trans person would stay as their biological gender for the sake of your narrative (at least, I hope you'd never do that)
