Grooming would be to brainwash Endou into doing whatever Honda wanted him to do. Look at Colleen Ballinger for how grooming actually goes down. Honda never even wanted to accept Endou's confession in the first place. Though I would say it's still a bit icky.
I believe that it wasn't grooming BUT was definitely predatory as he was just waiting for him to become 18 and he was previously his student
