I stumbled across this shounen-ai some time ago, not at all expecting the route it was heading. I’m pleasantly surprised. I do not care for the lack of romance. Really, there is no need for it. The depiction of the aftermath following the death of a close one to suicide is very much real. The guilt that remains with you, and even though others can tell you that you’re not at fault, you can’t help but to feel that way.
Next Thursday, August 31st, will be two years since I lost my best friend to suicide. Sometimes I’m okay, and sometimes the self-loathing kicks in and it’s hard to bring myself out of it. My heart hurts for ML, knowing the pit he’s dug himself in. I want him to find his way out, too.
