Idk, I think that’s a good theory tho
Personally, my interpretation is that they died and I saw the epilogue and I thought it was a flash back imo
But idk, nothings really that clear with this ending and I’m kinda left confused, especially with everyone trying to figure out the ending
I feel like the debate on whether they’re alive or not is the same as people trying to piece together fnaf lore but once again, idk ┑(￣Д ￣)┍

When the ice cracked because I feel like that’s the direction the author made and mostly because when I read the epilogue, I felt like it was a flash back when Pearl boy (i forgot his name) lost his memories and we were getting a peek of what happened between the mafia guy that Dooshik worked for and Dooshik after Pilwton’s death
But this is just my interpretation of the ending and that I wouldn’t be surprised that the author had always planned them to die at the end

In simple terms: I think Jooha and Dooshik are dead when they fell in the ice mostly because of what I know happens in the epilogue

I think the epilogue is a flash back after the events of Pilwon and when Jooha loss his memories

However these are just my interpretation of what might’ve happened on the frozen lake simply because I (mostly) know what happens in the epilogue
At the same time, I could be wrong about the whole thing as well
