No. There’s a reason why he said she’s “father’s ex-wife’s child.” He would’ve said half sibling instead if they were. Meaning the truth is it’s likely that the ex-wife had a daughter with another man. (Before getting married to him or during their marriage, aka they aren’t blood related)

I mean that’s fine, you got your preferences but I feel like if that’s the case, it’s better to drop. The only reason why I truly don’t consider them nephew and uncle is because of both blood and how three grew up. They didn’t grow up together thinking of each other as family and had only recently met. The top is basically cut off from his own family and no longer wants to associate with them- so he doesn’t even consider them as his family. The MC doesn’t even consider her as his own mom- since he never grew up with her and only recently met her, same with his uncle. They both don’t consider each other and couldn’t see each other as family. At most the nephew/uncle title is a formality or in name, seeing as it likely isn’t even related by law. Since the mother doesn’t even want it to be found out that he’s her son, she definitely didn’t write that she’s related to him or even acknowledge she’s connected to his existence.
