They were sexually abused as minors, and their lives were pretty miserable because the men watching them were pedos. Most people think that women doing belly dancing is the sexiest thing, but historically, the men who saw the male dancers would often prefer them to the female dancers. The female dancers would hate the male dancers and be very jealous lmfao:

lmfao sorry but this topic has been bothering me since I keep seeing belly dancing shorts on YouTube pop up to annoy me constantly... YouTube knows I like watching ballet, ice skating and hip-hop so it also thinks I like belly dancing, but it actually annoys me since I read that Wikipedia article randomly a while ago. I'd personally rather see some male versions of belly dancing myself hmph but that's because I'm a woman maybe?
