unfortunately they were committed to him being a vegetable since like chapter 3 and once your brain dead there's no returning to how you once were, you either stay on life support or pull the plug :(

I think that the story about the brother was weird. Like I was expecting him to wake up or something like that. That could have given a new turn to the story. But I guess the ending was a bit rushed ( 1 chapter onmyl
