Yaoi isn't supposed to make sense but this is horrifying in more ways than one.

Racist portrayal of arab culture with the "assholes in the desert" stereotype. No consideration for the actual culture that it drew inspiration from. It just made up stuff as it goes based on a pre-existing biased of middle eastern countries as mean scary ppl who don't give a fuck about human rights and have strange strict rituals or tradition that will cause the main character to be arrested. Also, who the fuck don't know what's a harem and what's with all the unnecessary ceremony about it? They portrayed the culture as a group of ppl who is just out to enslave and fuck everybody without rhyme or reason or consideration of the victim.

Violent And being an asshole = love. He did unspeakable things and all that shit and the uke (like all stereotypical ukes) will at the end go... Actually I love u after all! Um no? That's called Stockholm syndrome. You need you head and quite possibly your ass checked. Seme is always this domineering asshole who don't give a shit and the uke is always the wide eyed cutesy doll like figure that always takes the seme's shit 'unconditionally' cos LUV?! Seriously. This is another case of "rape = love" bullshit where clearly rape is not given the gravity it needs. It is so interchangeable as a subject it's literally like the author just threw it in for the plot to move along cos they don't want to use their brain to think of something else. You cannot have the story this way and then slap the "I RAPED U AND NOW WE IN LUUUVVV" caveman logic. These works are part of a problem of a flood of yaoi perpetuating, institutionalising and normalizing the rather disturbing message that "so long as you put a dick in the person, everything will be alright romantically".

To be fair it could be for the fueling of rape fantasy in women and it's true that 50% of women have rape fantasy which is normal. However that doesn't mean that we should lie on our backs like babies and accept whatever that is spoon fed to us. Granted that every author has the rights to write whatever they want because they are coloured and influenced by their own experiences. However I believe that as readers we should take up our right and responsibility in how we read these mangas. Some may like it, and it's ok. But for me I'd like to call out this manga, discuss its flaws and in conclusion deem it disturbing, racist and extremely ignorant.

Thank you

It's like you've never read yaoi. This "logic" is very, VERY common, and do you always go around and tell people that you don't and shouldn't accept that? If that's so, then please leave the yaoi community as everyone here knows that it is 100% pure fiction. We have brains, there's a reason why it's 18+.

you forgot what yaoi means, or do you even know what yaoi actually even means?

    YAma nashi (Without climax)
    Ochi nashi (Without conclusion)
    Imi nashi (Without content)

Basically it's fictional no sense porn just like hentai.

You know what? Instead of crying your ass out ranting here you idiot, Why don't you send that to the mangaka directly so she would know instead of complaining here pointlessly

    really tho... June 3, 2017 3:37 pm

everyone replying to OP sounds like rape apologists who don't wanna think about how bad the content their reading actually is, also just because you say yaoi is suppose to be without content doesn't mean it can be forgiven for making stereotypical "brown people are savage and their government is tyrannical killers" characters who also rape without remorse, aint no "yaoi community" its just women who don't like being kink shamed and told why they should think about what the creator has actually written instead of how many times they can masturbate to it. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

...wow. checked this thread only to see people are fucked up. *acts shocked*

It's good to reflect on a work and see how it reflects the society we live in, or what it says about the author. Doesn't mean we need to put it through a moral scan, just that we need to understand intent and portrayal. I don't agree with everything the OP has said, but I think they are making a valid point, however at the same time wishing for someone to get raped "by Arabs" is a lot more hardcore than some idiot who goes "I dont care about rape in fiction etc etc"
Frankly, I care a lot about rape in fiction, because it gets me off, and I take a mixed stand on it, but rape apologist crap is still interesting to look into and examine, why do women write these kinds of rape tropes in their work? Why are we exoticising Arab men? Why is that different from when a mangaka exoticises a European? What are the power dynamics? How is these men's homosexuality portrayed? etc etc

Here is a nice quote from the Dark Mother herself:

“It's both possible, and even necessary, to simultaneously enjoy media while also being critical of its more problematic or pernicious aspects.”
