i'm so grateful that we learn what motivates the seme's actions and we can see that he has a depth of love to rival the uke's - and that he really makes the effort to change his behaviour (he's always loved and cherished the uke, but his very poor self esteem and some of the legitimately bad parts of his character made him act the way he did).
