Y’all like Ethan ??

How can y’all like Ethan when he literally used her as a scapegoat and had her executed. I know that was their past life but he’s still showing obsessive tendencies like before. Theon is annoying too. From what I can grasp he didn’t like the FL in the beginning (yknow before she became a tyrant) because she was too greedy for him? Butttt he literally is becoming greedy and jealous about her as well. Anyways -

I think he kinda became disillusioned with how madly in love she was with Theon originally. ig he wasn't yandere levels of obsessed with her, so when he knew he had no chance with her whatsoever, he kinda just stopped. She was pretty much suicidal once Theon died in the OG afterall. Maybe OG Ethan was hoping she'd fall for him if Theon was finally out of the picture? I have very little trouble believing he could've masterminded OG Theon's suicide.

Hopefully, younger Ethan isn't anywhere near as toxic as the OG (yet).

I'm kind of going off what the Princess has shown us so far and to me, it doesn't seem like she has any ill will towards Ethan. Usually, a person would have severe adverse emotions towards the person that killed them and try to avoid them but the Princess kind of did the opposite and sought him out 1st (which gives me the impression that she felt as a tyrant, she needed to be stopped and Ethan was the person to do that). Rn I'm chopping up Ethan's behaviour to young age and a huge dependence brought on by the fact that his family is extremely neglectful. Hopefully he kind of mellows out when he gets older. I do have to say, he's the only character so far that actively tries to understand, protect and proactively plan to keep the FL safe. (The brother and Theon are bystanders, the maid hardcore pushed the "try to be cute and maybe your dad will love you" bit when he was clearly abusive (not that I don't love her but as an adult, she should have known better), and her knight is more of a defensive/reactive role with him just now doing more to help/protect her (he only recently just started reassuring her). Ethan has, currently, and is planning to help the MC in the future as well as is the only one she can emotionally vulnerable with. I wouldn't say he's the best choice but for the given situation I think he's a valuable person to the MC who reminds her and reassures her of her worth, while also actively voicing it (everyone else kind of tiptoes around the king whereas Ethan would commit treason for her (he literally did in the past)).

He literally ended her misery while still loving her and he knew that.

Because he did everything for her and was always by her side when nobody else was. And he loved her, truly
