RIGHT. they're always empty shells just waiting to be found by their past lovers and then be filled by their past self's memory. I hate it so much. is there even any BL reincarnation story that does this right? almost every reincarnation story i read follows this storyline that's why im now avoiding reading more.
I would love it if they were anything like inuyasha. kagome was clearly a reincarnation of kikyo but inuyasha distinguished them as separate people with separate lives.
This is why reincarnation trope is up there with one of my most disliked tropes in fiction. Nothing has ever made me like it.

Reincarnation stories will never not be weird. The present person is simply carrying the memories of another person, and yet the characters treat like they are the same person. Feels like a complete rebound.
