Being shown a healthy relationship for one of the first times in yaoi history and it’s absolutely devastating because monogamy left the chat even though polyamorous people exist (like me) and people who are into open relationships exist. Totally agree with your comment. It's just that I still consider the couple to be monogamous since they only have a romantic relationship with each other.
When they have sex with other people, it's just work and a transaction so they don't have a polyamorous relationship with their clients. Sex workers are not automatically polyamorous or in an open relationship imo
It doesn’t make it polyamory but monogamy isn’t the only way to be happy and actually, you find more cheating and dishonesty in monogamous relationships than other types of relationships. They are healthy and happy in their relationship and trust and respect each other. It’s not okay to overlook that cause of societal norms. This is no different than thinking straight couples are the norm and therefore gay couples make people “sad” cause “why couldn’t they find a nice girl to fall for?”. If they are happy and healthy, we should be encouraging that. Not pushing our own feelings about societal norms when actually, they are doing what the majority can’t which is being in a loving and committed relationship with trust and respect and honour. 2D or not. It’s problematic thinking that societal norms trumps any other type of relationship and that anyone has the right to be “sad” over a healthy and happy couple just because it’s not what they expected. You wouldn’t say this to an actual couple you see in the street then don’t say it in any public space. Um idk what you mean by hating. I was just surprised that someone commented that they disliked the main couple not being sexually exclusive - which is a standard expectation when reading a yaoi manga and they were met with a paragraph full of sarcasm about how they shouldn't feel like it.
The person could've disliked their comment and then made another new comment stating their opinion. But needlessly getting offended and talking someone down just for stating their opinion - is not okay I believe.
