The story is just plain simple. There's really not much happening in the main story other than what I described.
We have a total of less than 10 characters in the whole novel. The culprits and their motives are obvious and silly.
I don't really like any of the characters, the FL is boring and the ML is annoying. Their relationship to the end stays with him being the superior and her his inferior from their relationship dynamics.
No explanation of how Edwin's father was able to turn back time for him.
No closure on Rosalyn and her father on why they treated Kit like that, their reaction to her marrying Edwin, regrets or the like etc.

Lots of small plot holes.
Like why was Edwin going to the library every day to read the same damn book he probably already knows by heart. How many times can you read a book without pause and why go to the library for this and not stay in your own home? For plot convenience ofc, to meet FL and make her love the ML.
Or like Edwin's mother didn't suspect the Uncle. If he wasn't the culprit, why would he take his brother's throne to begin with? The throne goes to the emperor's son, not brother, by rule. And he even married his supposedly beloved brother's wife. She literally married her dead husband's brother so he wouldn't kill her son, yet didn't suspect him at all? This makes no sense.
It's all stuff at you could technically force an explanation for, but overall many things that don't make much sense.

The story also feels one-dimensional. The manhwa is better in this aspect, because in the novel - only the things needed for the plot are described, but in the manhwa at least you can visualize and see the story come to life, so it feels more realistic.
