God, this story was so adorable.

I don't get why some of ya'll don't see the chemistry. Ga-in went from a cold person with no attachments to anyone, who saw alphas as nothing more than someone to have a fling with; to someone who is soft as hell towards his alpha partner and puts in the effort to show him affection plus clears up misunderstandings. I found it so wholesome when Ga-in started to seriously want to have a family with Hyeon no matter what anyone had to say. Not only did he become soft for his partner, but overall became more chill towards everyone. Once the child was born he put his all into being a good father for his kid.

Hyeon didn't have as much development as Ga-in. Well he almost got no development. He is pretty much a one dimensional character. However I feel like it worked out just fine. His happy-go-lucky personality is what made Ga-in to become the person he is by the end of the story. If Hyeon became "colder" or more "mature" they probably wouldn't have worked out. Ga-in didn't need someone indifferent, cold, nor mature. He has all that by himself what he needed was a person who would be energetic, honest, straightforward, caring, and be pro active. Hyeon fits the bill on all of those. He never hesitated to show him how much he loved him. He made his pov clear and didn't beat around the bush. Never once did he take away Ga-in's autonomy. He also didn't give up his either even while being submissive.

They both continued with their carear path without becoming an obstacle to each other. Both of them respected the others will and never forced each other to change. Their decision to have a family came naturally to them. There wasn't any pressure when coming to that conclusion. Ga-in's self conflict about keeping the child was valid. Hyeon is a lot younger than him and hadn't even graduated from college. They hadn't discussed about that subject so he didn't know if it was a good choice or not. It was also reasonable that he was scared to tell Hyeon. At the same time Hyeon had all right to react that way given how he found out about it. However they still properly talked about it and cleared up any misunderstandings that had come up. They constantly reassured each other.

The thing about the their usual tropes is that the cold one never makes their feelings out clearly until the end of the story. On the other hand the golden retriever one doesn't bother to clear up misunderstandings and is quick to turn away because of it. As well as the retriever starts to give up on chasing the cold one since they don't see much progress at all. The cold one usually doesn't give the other any reassurance until they get to the point where they are about to lose the retriever. Also in the case of generational wealthy ceo x brokie commoner starts out by the rich discriminating the average citizen for their class. Ga-in never cared about Hyeon's economic class. He only disliked that he's an alpha since he didn't like the stereotype placed on alphas. Even so he didn't let that fact get in the way of getting closer to Hyeon. Neither of them gave up even when Ga-in's family tried to separate them. Ga-in never even considered the idea of leaving Hyeon just because of the benefits from his family's arrangement. He also didn't hide his family's intensions from Hyeon. At the same time Hyeon was worried but ready to go up against Ga-in's family.

I can't stress enough how much I love that their is always consent, commination, clear intensions, boundaries, and respect between them. Yes they had mutual respect even though Ga-in started off on the wrong foot. Pretty quickly in the story his actions towards Hyeon became a lot more respectful and was only degrading in a mutually consensual way.
