Well there is an issue with the manga and mangaka, they made this with the intent that young females should read it. The manga also romanticises the idea of having a young and innocent boy be attracted to a much older woman, to be short, its fetish content. Of course, minors wont realise it but adults will, the mangakas intentions are extremely questionable. This manga is unethical, ethics are subjective but from a general viewpoint the manga itself and the main character of the manga are predatory.

Yeah indeed, medical intervention may help in some cases, but it poses even more questions. Can someone that has never done anything despite their inclination be called a pedophile? How to find them if they don't seek help themselves? And is it still a crime as long as they haven't done anything?

I don't have the answer to these questions.
But the actual pedophiles deserve nothing but death and if the law states it clearly everywhere, maybe my earlier questions could remain questions and kids be safer.

To be clear here, medical intervention will help in most cases where pedophiles seek help. A predatory paraphilia can be treated and theres lots to prove it but we cant make pedophiles seek help. You can put a horse next to a river but that doesnt mean it'll drink the water. What we need to do in create a safe environment in which someone with this mental disorder will feel no judgement in seeking help. And of course its not a crime to be a pedophile, how are we supposed to criminalise a mental illness?? Abusing minors is a crime, not having mental health problems. However, willfully not seeking help makes you the problem and not oher people, not matter how ashamed someone feels a childs innocence will be more importsnt. Seek help and do not be silent.

Also, it would never be possible for a pedophile to use pedophilic material and not abuse kids. Pedophilia is a mental illnes, if we give pedophiles material that feeds their mental disorder they could never get better. Our brains do not have a seperate channel to process fiction, when we use a 'fictive pass' it makes us susceptible to changes in the way we percieve immoral things in real life as well. Thats why we have to be cutthroat about even fictional predatory content, biologically our brains know the difference between fiction and reality but the way we judge morality remains the same so if we pardon this sort of content we leave room for much more. The same way becoming desensitised to fictional sexual violence can desensitise us to real sexual violence. Not only that but making sexual content about children just is not ok, i mean look at japan, sexualisation of PREPUBESCENT minors is everywhere. Its harder to see that in western countries and for very good reason.
