The reason, why Klopp was so cruel is actually really twisted. His whole revenge, it backfired on him, creating an imprint, causing him to be so obsessed with Aelock.
They explained that imprinting is a hormonal disruption phenomenon developed by a pregnant omega to ensure an alpha’s protection. Usually, an alpha who is together with one omega for a long time develops this, unknowingly.
Since their relationship got worst and never got better. It added fuel to fire. The imprint magnified all the negative emotions, he felt about Aelock. Why his looking for a reason to beat him, humiliate him, impregnate him… it was all because he imprinted on Aelock.

For what he has suffered the only things he guilty of is falling In love with Klopp that drove him to killed rapaeil.

Yeah, they both suffered. No, one could blame Klopp why he took revenge, but how he executed that revenge made it too much. He could have killed Aelock or sent him to jail, his a lawyer… He wasn’t hesitant to kill a lot of the scums living in bottom place. So why not just kill Aelock? Why make him suffer to that extent?
He wasn’t doing it for his wife, he was doing it for himself. Rayfiel death was the justification, he needed to do what he wanted. He did marry Rayfiel because he look like Aelock…. It’s just the guilt of his actions ate him, so he took it out on Aelock.
In the third arc, Klopp regression, he regretted a lot and admitted, it was his pride and inferiority that made him ruin Aelock. He did not try know Aelock, and made him out to be a cold-hearted noble. Aelock is actually nice, if Klopp just tried to know him. He defended Rayfiel when Klopp was being rude to him, and Aelock got mad when Klopp got too violent to the scammers/robbers that tried to hurt him at the bottom place, and pointed out your not God to decide there punishment.
As for OG Aelock, yeah he carried that scar in his regression. He constantly suffered nightmares, he thought that this new life was nothing but a sweet dream. I’m just grateful that the Klopp in this world, was able to fight the imprint, and grow to be a better partner. Seeing how hurt Aeroc was, by a past he couldn’t say. When Aeroc did open up, Klopp didn’t dismiss him, he listened in horror and understood why Aeroc acted like that with food, why he was always scared. He didn’t believe the story of the past life, but he did know that as Aeroc’s partner he needs to support his spouse, and make him feel safe and loved.
It’s not going to erase the pain of the first world, but being with his Klopp made the journey in this second chance a little less difficult.

When he first met Aelock in the 3rd world, Klopp thought it was hell, and assaulted him. I couldn’t blame how Klopp responded, he did slowly lose his mind in the first world, and then he sees Aelock alive again.
He was so angry… and frustrated. Seeing Aelock not acting like he didn’t know him, and Aelock only called for Hugo.
OG Aelock thought the second world as a dream, so he much more chill in his meeting with Klopp…
