I think, in this case, he meant for Youhei to live for him, and die when he does. After almost getting killed by someone that's not each other, their feelings have come together at this point.

So when he said "Die for me" did he mean,
die for me right now while I still have all of you for myself
OR
die(live) for me/ dedicate your death to me??
