Rereading for the 19294828th time and the first chapter when Aki was on the phone he was hugging his doll Ryuji gave him. So cute. Idk I feel like it shows that he cherishes Ryuji and the love he has for him without even realizing it heheh

I think Aki has always had love for Ryuji, he flourished when he called him cute. He felt like a river finally had water flow in it. He loved spending time with him. I think the affection he had for keigo was not 100% romantic/sexual. That’s why he was able to value their friendship for the parts of it that he treasured by the end. I’m sure that even if keigo slept with him Aki would definitely feel empty. So I’m glad they stayed purely friends this whole time.
Idk I didn’t really see this story as aki choosing choice number two, but as him realizing that his number one was with him this whole time.
I think it was more mutual than they both realized.
