I guess that's something the author wanted to put across. That we can appreciate not having a caste system like that in the manga. Or you can look at it in another way: the omega can be a symbol of racial discrimination in the workplace/society in general.

You innocent little birds. The omegas represent women. Obedience, secondary status, reproduction and the inability to cheat or refuse sex from their alpha haha, the omegas are 'perfect' women. And we're gobbling this shit up. I once read something 'never underestimate the power of yaoi to make you hate your own sex'. True dat, true dat...

I like your way of thinking, but we can also broaden the analogy to represent past and modern social stratification, where the Alphas represent what in the United States we now call the top 1% (the mill/billionaires, corporations and shareholders), the Betas represent the middle class or proletariat, which is composed by the blue and white collar poor that serve as the worker bees that sustain the wealth of the top 1% by working in their companies and consuming themselves to perpetual debt, and the omegas represent the very lowest in the social strata, the working poor earning wages below the poverty line. To think for a second that we live in a caste free society is truly naive. We all live in a materialistic global class system that determines our worth based on individual wealth, or the "illusion" of wealth (hence people drowning in debt).

Regarding the misogynistic elements in Yaoi, it is no different than the romance genre (of which Yaoi is a sub-genre) in fiction whose main demographic is women (84%), which raises a dichotomous issue due that at first glance, it seems illogical that women would support anything that would advance their own subjugation and it has become a very heated controversial subject where women are ashamed to admit to being fans of the genre even though 8 or more women out of ten are closet fans; however, this modern politically correct tendency refuses to recognize that for most readers, what is acceptable in fiction, is not necessarily acceptable in real life and that is because most, if not all, fiction is escapist; we immerse ourselves in it to escape real life, to indulge fantasies, to explore limitless possibilities, etc. This is part of the ongoing debate regarding the "rape trope" prevalent in the genre and especially Yaoi, which carries extremely negative connotations because of the very serious issue of rape in real life; however, the rape trope in fiction has been part of the romance genre for decades; What X generation woman doesn't remember reading those steamy bodice rippers of the 80's or those werewolves/vampires/paranormal novels so popular in current times? That's because the "fantasy rape" trope is geared towards women because it is the universal "woman's fantasy" that has nothing to do with the grotesque violence of real life rape. A woman' or male's romantic rape fantasy has nothing to do with the psychopathic delusions/tendencies of a rapist.

Women fantasize about being "forcefully seduced"/raped by a gorgeous powerful assertive Alpha male, where they are already acquaintances with strong sexual attraction where the female strongly sexually desires the male but cannot freely admit it and so, the "consensual rape" allows her to simultaneously enjoy the sexual act and maintain the "innocent/chaste" facade (as dictated by our patriarchal social system). The fantasy directly taps into the primeval female instinct of attracting the most powerful male for survival, and also taps into the female ego which feeds from conquering the "elusive" "unconquerable" alpha male, thus becoming the object of his desire and obsession. This explains the popularity of the "Omegaverse" in Yaoi and why so many of us love it and find the whole "heat" and "bite ritual sexy as fuck between the intended protagonists. Does this primeval instinct to conquer the alpha male imply that most women experience internalized misogyny? of course not, but it is too complex a subject for the scope of this simple discus; I have even gone beyond my initial intention as it is. In conclusion, yaoi or romance fiction far from fomenting women to hate their own gender, or fomenting internalized misogyny (at least for most women), it allows women and (let's not forget many men as well) to freely indulge primeval desires without compromising their human intrinsic value in real life. While I may fantasize about being forcefully carried by an uber gorgeous alpha male into a cave to be thoroughly ravished, I sure as hell wouldn't be ok with a stranger doing that in real life, no matter how gorgeous or alpha he may seem. Fuck that! Indisputably, fiction and real life are two separate dimensions.
