idk if this helps i read this a long ass time ago basically ash is tryna find out the drug that killed his brother (the drug is called banana fish) and then he meets eiji who came from japan with a reporter to interview ash and shit. and then they go through a shit ton of things to escape ash's weird pedo mobster master dude who's in love with him and a lot of gangs and shit happens idk and then in the end eiji gets injured so ash feels guilty about it and doesn't go see eiji off at the airport when eiji goes to leave for japan. then eiji writes a sad ass heartbreaking letter to ash and ash reads it then tries to go see eiji before he leaves but then ash gets stabbed and instead of going to a hospital ash goes to a library and passes away with a smile and eiji's letter with him.
adding to what you said BUT RLLY RLly DETAILED LIKE RLLY
ash is trying to find out what the fuck is banana fish bc in the irish war his brother suddenly became like braindead and he happens to be interviewed in a bar by eiji and he slowly becomes attached to eiji and eiji becomes his weakness which the dino's organization uses to their advantage ash tries to make eiji go eiji refuses and that happens over and over agin he later discovers more about it and learns its a drug through losing many ppl close to him
he gets closer to exposing dino before dino kills himself and they lose all the banana fish related documents they all get justice but banana fish is gone wo a trace after talking w bianca he meets w sing and talks to him abt why he isnt running to the airport to go to japan and he said the world of killing is his and eiji should be back to his own home and then he saw his letter which made him run (idk where maybe the airport) before getting stabbed by lao because lao saw ash as a threat to sing which leads to ash then shooting lao ash was far too exhuasted mentally to survive and knew even if he came to live with eiji there would always be something that stops them from being peaceful due to his numerous killings and after reading the line my soul is always with you he knew he could finally rest knowing eiji was safe
Can someone actually spoiled me the whole story I'm too scared to finish the anime and probably will never touched the manga....
