So I just skimmed/read the novel a while back. Skipped some parts but first off, the reason why the crown prince stabbed fml in the first life was because he and the saintess’s childhood friend, Gideon were trying to turn back time. Gideon is in love with the saintess but he couldn’t have her (that’s probably why he tried to turn back time) and the ml was trying to save the fml from her execution by reversing time(?? Weird logic Ik). The way to reverse time was through the means of a spell in which the caster (ML) works with a magic user (Gideon) and the caster has to stab the person he loves most in order to activate the spell to reverse time, after he kills the person he loves he then kills himself. So that’s what he did. Of course ML and Gideon remain with their memories intact, and they only expect each other to have their memories, but turns out fml does too
Basically the ML is now in the body of Gideon and Gideon is in the body of the ML (crown prince) and the ML feels bothered every time he kisses fml in this body which originally isn’t his. It bothers me too, as a reader lol… I prefer his old appearance a lot more… this new one has blonde hair and blue eyes. Crown prince was superior 100%, ahem anyways… obvi fml falls for Gideon because he acts just like the crown prince in their previous lives (duh they’re the same person) and she also knows that the crown prince is in his body she just doesn’t bring it up because she’d rather just leave things the way they are.
Personally I don’t like the whole swapping of characters in appearances (really, really bothers me) so this is dropped for me
