So here it goes. From what I’ve understand

I'm assuming their whole conversation had a different timeframe in reality.

    Kun:
    1. Originated from "a head for a head" from the goddess Inanna when she sacrificed her own husband, Kun also tried to sacrifice his own in return for his dead wife.
    2. While he can't be dead, he just desperately wishes and questions (to whichever gods he's seeking).
    3. Kun realizes that Reniea and the branch were actually fated the same way, so he planted it.

    Reniea (assuming that's the underworld):
    1. Reniea is traveling in a long walk to enter the castle but somehow can't enter the gate.
    2. She's talking to Neti, the guard of the underworld/castle when a relative of the master of the castle arrives.
    3. He explains she can't enter because someone doesn't want her to go, hence the puddle.
    4. Although she could just easily jump it, at the back of her head, something is stopping her.
    5. He also explains that last thread of life she had, which is the branch, has sprouted.
    6. I don't know, but it seems they let her go even if nobody is sacrificed yet.

And that's when she came back from the dead, where the branch has been planted.
Because that was where her life connected with.
