Oh! I know. The "rape" that happens at first. Yes yes I know that it is rape- no way around it, but for plot purposes it was both to express Tatsumi's desire and inspection of goods. Come on- it's a brothel. Can't complain since the business IS sex, consensual or not.
I liked it even though it seemed to jump around. It was sweet in the sense that Tatsumi only had eyes for Shuuji, but I feel that if a plot is gonna go this direction, then more animosity should be built up between characters:
If Shuuji was kept as blindly loyal and caring, then Tatsumi shouldn't have so quickly caved to his feelings. Shuuji would have to chase him and put up with whatever abuse until Tatsumi finally accepts his feelings as love and then repairs what he has done
Conversely if Tatsumi continued to be so forward, Shuuji should have been less receptive. Shuuji would refuse Tatsumi's advances, have to deal with whatever abuse due to Tatsumis frustration (being wrongly channeled), cope and then gradually accept the amends from Tatsumi.
I don't actually mind the brothel aspect, since brothels have been around forever. Plus the prostitutes in <most> yaoi manga are treated quite well. (It's logical that you not try to leave/escape someone who owns you before paying them back- a slap was generous compared to the possible senarios/punishments that could've been)
