Many of the famous classics lit had problematic issues (racist, sexist, misogynistic, homophobic, rape, pedophiles, crimes... well, a lot of crimes). The famous modern one aren't exceptional either. So why are they still good? Because the classics are old? Because the modern had written by famous writers? They are good not because they had high morality but rather because how it's displays. For this story there're triggers warning at the very top page if you don't want any of this then why don't you stop?

Things like this really happen in real life and some ppl don't even aware of it. Relationships with manipulation, gaslighting, abusive and rape. Quite common i must say. The main character is showing his character development quite well; from a victim of an abusive household with self-sabotage mentality yearning for love (even if it's a messed up one) to a depressive fucked up boy. The story doesn't romanticize these behaviors but showing the 'love' through victims point of view and as you can see- He slowly changes. From admiration to disgust.

The story itself wasn't driving by plot but by character. The pace, art and characters design are perfectly written.

Sorry to say this but only read sugar-coated stories thinking the problem itself never happened is such a delusional way of thinking. Offensive stories still have its value waiting to be discussed about. It's a good thing that modern society are aware of the problems but the author shouldn't limited their imagination to please the cancel culture. Instead, The story with disturbing content should have warning and limits the reader's age. The problems should be understood instead of ignoring it saying it's problematic.
