I feel like 'dark romance' tropes most of the time are just the authors channeling their wierd fetishes(shit like cp, grooming, rape, abduction etc). So they never sit right with me.
However there are a few bls I've read where dark romance has been done right. Like black mirror for eg. It's so good.
