Read upto chapter 6, I don't feel the passion for food like I usually do for food themed stories. The cover is probably from the novel version or something since the actual manhwa art is different. Being spoilt by high quality art doesn't help too.
Starting right off with the Light Yagami look-alike MC, and realizing this now after writing that, is probably based off of Tsukiyama Shuu from Tokyo Ghoul whose alias is Gourmet, just by the appearance, not by personality ofc.
The world building and foundation barely set in to start with the fast pacing of sub plots. Perhaps it's because I'm biased towards other manhwas by levelling up by only eating, please have a meal, archmage restaurant etc.
Speaking of please have a meal, the heavenly gourmet class from this manhwa reminded me of a side character from the former whose class is also gourmet and needs MC to cook delicious food, so I guess this idea might have been inspired by that character. Then again there's also the mc of leveling up by only eating who's similar with the eating, cooking and VRMMORPG aspects.
Overall, good idea but average execution. Will let it be unless the rating reaches 9 and above. A pity this manhwa has good potential, just needs the right timing for marination. Aight I cooked enough.
